Our team designed a renovation and camelback addition to an existing single shotgun home in Uptown New Orleans. The historic house needed to be raised and the walls were gutted down to the studs for new framing and finishes. We designed a simple and efficient layout for the young family, with the shared spaces downstairs and private bedrooms upstairs. Many spaces serve dual functions, like a piano nook between the stairs, a combination laundry/pantry room, a guest ensuite bathroom with access off the kitchen, and an oversized stair landing for use as a den. Our team also worked with the clients to conceptualize the interior materials and finishes for a consistent design throughout the home. JLV Construction completed the building.
