About

Clayton

Clayton Hakes is a Project Architect at Adamick Architecture. With six years of experience in Louisiana and California, he has built a strong portfolio of residential and commercial projects. After earning his Master of Architecture from Tulane University, Clayton spent several years in design-build, gaining hands-on expertise in carpentry, casting, and welding. His professional work includes restaurants, coffee shops, bars, residential projects, and educational spaces. He believes architecture plays a crucial role in addressing environmental and social challenges through democratic placemaking and public interest design. Outside of work, Clayton is an active musician who has performed at many of New Orleans' top venues. He’s spent time on tour, and recorded multiple albums. He also enjoys creating art and photography inspired by the city's vibrant streetscapes. In his free time, he can be found cooking, playing music, hiking, camping, or being at the mercy of his two cats, Ambrose and Jet.
