Just across the river from the French Quarter, Algiers Point offers a rare vantage point of the New Orleans skyline and the wide bend of the Mississippi. That view was the driving force behind this three-story contemporary new construction, where Adamick Architecture served as architect of record. A departure of the historical architectural character of Algiers Point, we worked with the HDLC (Historic District Landmarks Commission) to create something bolder.
The result is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home built around the experience of living above the river. Tall first-floor ceilings with exposed beams anchor the interior, and the second floor houses a generous primary suite alongside a guest bath and laundry. But the defining moment is the third floor: an observation deck and bar with sweeping views of the Mississippi River and the New Orleans skyline. It’s the kind of space that makes the whole design make sense. Pentek Homes served as both developer and contractor on the project.
