Adamick Architecture is excited to be selected as a Louisiana Landmarks Society 2025 Excellence In Preservation Award Winner for the rehabilitation of our offices in the Irish Channel. These awards honor projects completed in Orleans Parish, and represent outstanding examples of the restoration and rehabilitation of historic buildings.
A former 19th-century corner store and bakery, we adapted the building for modern use while preserving historic elements such as the brick-over-stucco chain walls, original wood windows, and a hip roof. Interior restoration included painted wood ceilings and tongue-and-groove wainscoting to reinstate the building’s historic elements. This project successfully balances historic preservation with contemporary functionality, meeting both Federal and State historic tax credit standards.
“The variety of this year’s thirteen award-winning projects reflects the strength and reach of historic preservation across New Orleans,” says Michael Mancuso, President of Louisiana Landmarks Society. “These efforts are essential to preserving our city’s character while contributing to its cultural and economic growth. We look forward to recognizing the teams behind this important work.”
