Some of our favorite projects start with a building that’s lived multiple lives. Originally a 1950s pharmacy and later an unpermitted church, the building was reimagined into a modern veterinary practice for Batt Veterinary Services.
With a history of flooding and severe termite damage, the building came with some real challenges. We replaced the framing and elevated the floors with lightweight concrete to solve both problems, then designed a circulation pattern built for the realities of a working vet clinic. This ensured an efficient patient work flow from check-in to exam room.
This project is another great example of adaptive reuse in New Orleans done right, giving an aging structure new purpose instead of demolishing it and starting from scratch. Visit the portfolio page to see the full project and pictures.
